Jennifer Nowicki is Certified Academic Language Therapist, Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist, and Certified Reading Specialist (M.ED., CALT, C-SLDS). She works with students of all ages across the literacy spectrum through her private practice, Spark Reading LLC, which is co-located at Compass’s Herndon learning center (Office H-10). Her services range from conducting an initial assessment of literacy skills, making recommendations on language arts curricula, and coaching for executive functioning and academic skills to individualized lesson planning and regular academic therapy. Jennifer is a former public school teacher who has taught 1st grade through high school. She completed her Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) training through the Atlantic Seaboard Dyslexia Education Center (ASDEC). She earned her undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary and her master’s degree from the University of Virginia. Her credentialing organizations are the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA), the Center for Effective Reading Instuction (CERI, an affiliate of the International Dyslexia Association), the State of Maryland, and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Jennifer is the mother of four children, several of whom were taught at home at different times.
