Megale, Shea C.
Shea C. Megale joins Compass as the advisor of the Compass Collaborative student newspaper and facilitator of the teen Filmmaking Club. Shea is a published author of works in fantasy, science fiction, non-fiction, biography, and children’s literature. She was a gold medalist in the 2020 Reader Views and IPPY Awards and served as a judge at the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. Shea is an accomplished screenwriter and film director. Her team’s entry in the spring 2024 DC 48 Hour Film Festival earned the Viewer’s Choice award and was filmed at Compass! She worked as a teaching assistant in the film and photography department of Northern Virginia Community College and attended the the Film Academy of Miroslav Ondříček in the Czech Republic where she earned the President’s Award. Shea earned dual Masters Degrees from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. in History and Foreign Service. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts, Distinguished Major in History from The University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
