D’Cruz, Shona
Shona D’Cruz has been a hobby artist her entire life working in sculpture, mosaics, stained glass, floral, paper quilling, and jewelry with a passion towards functional and wearable art. Shona works at Maveric Mosaics with former Compass instructor and sculptor Bonnie Fitzgerald, and has recently founded her own business, Blue Hyacinth Mosaics, LLC. She sells her works online through Etsy and exhibits her creations in local art shows such as Viva Vienna and at West Elm in Merrifield. Shona has fourteen years of combined experience teaching young children with special needs, as well as typically developing children, in both private and public school settings. She has served as a Director of summer camp at her prior school and was a substitute teacher in the Fairfax County Public School system. She received her M.A in Early Childhood Special Education from The George Washington University, DC, and an M.A. Industrial Psychology and Organizational Behavior from the University of Mumbai, India.
