Compass Winter Class Schedule is Posted! Early Registration Opens November 19

Great news! The Compass Schedule of Winter Classes is now complete! Early Registration begins next week on Tuesday, November 19 at 6:00 am. A 10% discount is offered through December 13. Registration includes 3rd quarter and 2nd semester classes. Remember that the second half of the Compass year is longer with 8-week quarters and a 16-week semester. Classes begin January 13, 2025.

Join Compass for our 13th year! We are continuing to innovate and create new opportunities for homeschoolers. New families are welcome to enroll. More than 200 classes are offered a-la-carte for homeschooled students in K-12th grade. Mix and match classes in math, science, engineering, technology, history, humanities, geography, writing, English, Latin, French, Spanish, ASL, art, music, drama, cooking, chess, fitness, fencing, career exploration and more! All classes are taught by enthusiastic subject matter experts and teaching artists.

Special Programs:

  • Reading Rally… complete language arts curriculum. 8 levels offered. Students must complete a skills inventory with the reading specialist before registering in order to be assigned a reading group level.
  • Concert Band…join the first homeschool concert band in the region. Several levels offered: New Beginners, Advanced Beginners+, and Teen Band Ensemble (for grades 9+). Also, see new Pops Band for more playing practice and contemporary song selection.
  • Homeschool String Ensemble…small group ensemble for violin, viola, cello, and bass, grades 4-8.
  • Ballet Fun, Ballet Foundations…homeschool ballet classes held in conjunction with neighboring Herndon studio, Alchemy Ballet (3 blocks from Compass).
  • Homeschool Swimming…3 levels, 1 or 2 days per week. Partnership with Reston YMCA (0.9 miles from Compass).
  • Professional Certificates…teens can earn professional certificates as EMRs/EMTs, Certified Microsoft Office Specialist, or Virginia Food Handler card.
  • Private Music Lessons…Ask us about private lessons in voice, piano, ukulele, clarinet, flute, guitar, drums, and more
