Description:
What does it take to write a story that jumps off the page and comes alive in a reader's mind? Great authors have mastered the Artistry of Writing. This two-hour workshop will focus on one facet of excellent storytelling: compelling characters.
Believable characters create a connection with readers. They are compelling and three-dimensional, with goals, motivations, and conflicts that propel a plot in any genre. The class will analyze well-written characters and identify what makes them work. Students will work together to craft believable characters and then create them independently. There will be an opportunity to share and receive feedback.
