Compass Welcome Back Park Day 9/1

New, returning, and interested Compass families are invited to join us for an informal end-of-summer, Welcome Back Park Day on Friday, September 1. Families are invited to bring a picnic lunch and give kids an opportunity to see new faces, meet new friends, or reconnect after the summer break.

Date: Friday, September 1

Time: 11:00 am- 1:00 pm

Location: Haley M. Smith Park

Address: 324 Van Buren Street at Herndon Parkway (just 0.8 miles down the road from the Compass campus.)

Surprise: A food truck that sells frozen treats will make a stop at the park around 12:30 pm. Have some extra cash on hand.

Features: The park features two 60’ baseball/softball fields, a rectangular playing field, basketball and sand volleyball courts, a large playground, a tot lot, and indoor bathrooms. A new covered picnic shelter was constructed this summer.

What to Bring: Picnic lunch and water/drinks for your family, sunscreen, sports equipment (balls, bats, gloves, etc.), outdoor games. Families may want to bring picnic blankets and/or folding sports/camp chairs, as the number of picnic tables is limited.

Teens Too: Teens are encouraged to come and hang out and bring board games, card games, or start up games of volleyball, basketball, or softball.

RSVPs: This is a drop-by event with no formal RSVPs because we will be at a public park.
