Compass is hosting its TWO Homeschool Quads Chess Tournaments on Wednesday, May 21. The morning tournament starts at 10:00 am and the afternoon tournament starts at 1:00 pm. This year, the special guest official is Grandmaster Rashad Babaev. If you have not met a chess Grandmaster, this is the tournament to play!
Registration is ongoing for our 13th annual tournament! Select the AM or PM tournament based on your schedule or stay and play in both tournaments. Each chess player will play 3 matches per tournament. This is a great opportunity as a first-time, beginners’ tournament, but more experienced players will also enjoy a morning of chess matches with other homeschoolers. The tournament is open to any homeschooled chess player from age 6 – 16.
GM Babaev will be the new instructor for all Compass chess classes this fall. If your homeschooled student enjoys chess, check out our six 2025-26 chess classes for Beginners, Advanced Beginners, and Intermediate and Teen Players.
Register for the tournaments on the “Activity Fees” page of the Compass website! The cost of the quad tournament is $15.00/ student. There will be no onsite registration the day of the tournament.
