Need more help with Language Arts? For a fun, kinesthetic way to teach “the boring stuff” in language arts, check out Word Games: A Language Arts Olympics (Thu, 2pm). To improve vocabulary and spelling, see Word Masters: Verbal Analogies and Vocab Challenges (Tue, 12pm). Encourage reading with Reading Ready (Tue, 10am), Secret Pages Society (Thu, 1pm), Great Graphic Novels (Tue, 11am), and Intro to Literary Genres: Poetry (Fri, 10am), and more. For a comprehensive language arts program, ask about our multi-level, small group Reading Rally classes, a reading skills inventory, or private tutoring.
*The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) or “National Report Card” found only 27% of students in 4th-12th grade were proficient writers in their last national assessment in 2011, and there is no evidence that writing has improved in post-pandemic education.
